The hotel garni Ongaro is situated at the centre of a small mountain village at an altitude of 1420 metres. The whole year round it is exposed to the sun, surrounded by a large lawn and beautiful woodlands behind it, where one can go for long summer strolls and fully immerse oneself in nature. In winter the ski slopes for beginners can be easily reached on foot, and a smalI van hired by us and free of charge for our costumers will bring you in just a few minutes to the Civetta ski resort, which is surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites, such as the Marmolada, Civetta and Pelmo, to just mention a few ofthem. This territory is part ofthe "DOLOMITI SUPER SKI" circuit, on which you will be able to visit the slopes ofCortina and Tofana, which each year host the world ski championship. As an alternative you çan make the roundtrip ofthe Sella or the Grande Guerra, in other words there is a vast array of possibilities open to you in this area. The village where we are situated is very peaceful and quief and well suited for relaxation. The skies have been generous and snow has fallen
copiously again this winter, and since the beginning of
December there’s been great skiing in all the Dolomiti
Stars resorts. 3 ski resorts offer a total of 250
kilometres of perfectly snowy runs, enhanced and
maintained with efficient programmed snow cannons.
Skiers and snowboarders can choose between: Ski
Civetta with runs for all levels in Alleghe, Selva di
Cadore and Zoldo; the Passo San Pellegrino-Falcade
ski area that offers unforgettably exciting ski tours; and
the vast, magnificent Arabba-Marmolada
ski area that includes the runs in the Fodom Valley and
on “The Queen of
the Dolomites”, the
Marmolada, from which you
can take the never-ending
La Bellunese run, which is
more than 12 km long, from
3200 metres at Punta Rocca
all the way down to Malga
Ciapela. And there’s not just
alpine skiing. There are tons
of opportunities to try
any number of outdoor
activities on the snow: cross
country skiing, mountaineer skiing, snowshoe hikes, ice
skating, ice climbing and much more. Or spend your

LIVE THE EXCITEMENT OF
SNOWBOARDING

Just like surfers ride the waves of the ocean on their
boards, snowboarders can ride their boards across the
snowy Dolomites. The great snow tribe can cut their
teeth in the Dolomiti Stars. In all the ski areas you can
find a number of well equipped snow parks where
boarding and free-ride daredevils can practice their halfpipes,
rails and jumps along with other breathtaking
feats. There’s a wide variety to choose from, from the
snows of Ski Civetta, the Passo San Pellegrino-
Falcade ski area and the Arabba-Marmolada resorts.
Particularly exciting for 2009/2010 is the reopening of the
snow park on the Cristelin run in Zoldo Alto, in Ski
Civetta, also open by night for no-limits 360’s on the
snow under the stars. And for people eager to learn, no
worries. All 9 ski schools in the Dolomiti Stars boast
qualified professional instructors that can teach you how
to surf on the snow.
